Maximize…

Due to my hectic schedule, I felt that I did very little relaxing and much more working :( than previous summers.  Rather than leaning towards variety, I spent most of my time in maxis.  Once you wear a maxi, I am convinced you don’t go back. Running around, I needed to feel comfortable and fashion forward without too much effort. I also wanted to maximize the number of dresses by stretching my dollar as much as possible. Shopping around, I was lucky to find cheap maxi dresses that were a slight notch above casual.

Check out the picks below!

TJ Maxx, Ali & Kris $19.99

It was love at first sight when I found this TJ Maxx dress.

There was something very different and trendy about this faux silk maxi which looked more dressy and luxurious for going out. It was the last one on the rack of course and fit perfectly so I had to snag it!

 Marshalls, Calvin Klein $39.99

I’m skeptical of dye, vertical stripes and $39.99 but once I tried on this maxi, I was sold.  Calvin Klein makes a high quality maxi which is soft and super comfortable. Sadly, when I tried to look for more from this brand, the racks were empty.

Marshalls, Mimi Chica $15

I wanted to try strapless for a change due to the heat.  My goal was to spend under $20. I found the last style of this dress on the rack for $15. I like the small detail print and pale colors. This is my grab and go dress because due to the shorter hem in the front, the overall length of the dress doesn’t need to be altered which is perfect for shorter gals like me.

Kohl’s, Sonoma $15

I decided to hit up Kohl’s in the midwest while visiting my hometown.  Unfortunately, nothing appealed to me.  The one thing I did like happened to be over $60. When I checked again, they were marking it down for $15. Walking the streets of NYC, I had so many compliments on this dress from  random strangers who even asked were they could buy it. Who would have ever thought that something bought in the midwestern suburbs would be a hit at a major fashion hub?
