Fashion Rebirth: T.H.R.E.A.D.S.
Recycled fashion and eco-friendly fashion have always been a deep fascination for me. So I was glad to finally have the chance to see green take the floor at ‘Green Fest’ held at Navy Pier, Chicago. Reinventing fashion year after year is a challenge but re-creating fashion forward trend with used and environmentally friendly materials that women will like and wear is even a greater challenge.
Of my favorite designers for the night were Juliette Buford (Jules 71) who fused sexy and elegant in biodegradable dresses and Kelly Brinn who brought out edge with tremendous style using sustainable fabric.
These ladies also brought bold creativity. Victoria Larkin recreated the web look for those who want to put their sexuality out there. It is hard to believe the base of all her designs are recycled sweaters using eco-textiles to complete the look. Heart brought feminine and flowers using organic materials. Rosina Mae creatively re-constructed recycled swimwear for the beach and the streets.
These designers sell the powerful message that you can be gorgeous and give back to the earth!
